Caithness based Pentland Housing Association has been using a range of SDM's integrated software to help them manage their properties and to support the work of their subsidiary organisations.

"We went to SDM because we liked the fact that we could get the rent, repairs, purchase ledger, nominal ledger and waiting list programs at the same time," says Caroline Paul, Corporate Officer. "We bought the five packages initially and we liked that because they all integrated together."

What also impressed her at the time says Caroline was SDM's approachability and affordability: "We went with them for cost and for their openness friendliness. They were very approachable, they spoke plain English when speaking about their IT which was very important because none of us in the company had any IT knowledge.

"We obviously didn't know this at the time but their after-sales care is second to none. No matter what, whenever I phone the help desk I get an answer within so many rings. If I don't get an answer to the question they will say 'we'll come back to you', and they always do.

"Their help desk is one of their major strengths. The other one is that they're always consulting with clients and using client's knowledge to feed into the next upgrade.

"So, yes, we're really a very happy customer!"

Pentland Housing Association has just under 500 properties, the majority in Thurso, Scotland's most northerly town. They also encompass Pentland Community Enterprises and provide a Care & Repair service and Handyperson service across Caithness and North Sutherland.
