SDM Remote Support

SDM are extremely pleased to announce that a new and significantly better solution to the issue of remote support is now available to roll-out immediately.

SDM have piloted the software in question with a number of customers and it has proven to be better-suited to our customers’ requirements than pcAnywhere for a number of reasons:

Limitations of pcAnywhere:
• Only allows connection to the workstation where pcAnywhere is installed.
• Requires ongoing purchase of new versions of pcAnywhere when they are released.
• Not integral part of SDM Housing Software so needs to be separately installed & configured.
• Needs activating on designated workstation when required, thus causing staff disruption.
• Usually requires firewall settings to be adjusted by IT support people.

Advantages of replacement SDM Solution:
• Remote connection to any workstation running SDM Housing Software.
• Integral part of SDM Housing Software so will be kept up-to-date by SDM.
• Installed as part of SDM Housing Software
• Activated by single ‘click’ on any workstation within SDM Housing Software.
• No firewall or security setting changes required.

One of SDM’s customers (David Blane of Cloch Housing Association) who has been involved in the pilot said “...it’s the bee’s knees... where do I sign?...”!!!
